Windows 7 is the operating system for Feeding America

Last June, we highlighted how Windows 7 is helping Feeding America save time and earlier this spring, we announced that the network of food banks has completed its nationwide rollout of Windows 7! Today we’d like to talk more about their deployment and congratulate Feeding America on this great accomplishment!

It’s certainly rewarding for us when technology can help an amazing cause; in this case, allowing employees to focus on their real goal of providing food to hungry Americans instead of worrying about the tools they need to accomplish the job.

Feeding America chose to deploy Windows 7 nationwide after its internal test groups had such positive experiences with the beta. The excitement of the test users created buzz across the organization, and more and more employees were requesting to participate in the group! This enthusiasm helped their IT team to quickly roll out to the entire staff, and now everyone at the national office and 100 percent of supported food banks are enjoying Windows 7. Feeding America couldn’t be happier with the results - from IT’s ease of adding peripheral devices, to 85 percent reduction in service calls reporting errors, to employees’ overwhelmingly positive responses to Windows 7 features like Snap, Search and the Snipping Tool.

Don’t just take our word for it – here is Patrick Whalen, Director of Infrastructure Services, discussing how Feeding America completed their deployment and how things are going with Windows 7 across the nation.

We are proud to support Feeding America and we’re confident the Windows 7 deployment provides the technology the organization needs as they continue in the fight to end hunger.
