With my busy job at Microsoft, it’s hard for me to stay in touch with friends and family year round. I lived in Maine ten years ago, then Canada, then Colorado, DC and finally NYC before moving to Seattle. That means a lot of friends in a lot of different places. So, when I do connect I want it to mean a lot and I want it to be in person. That’s why I love Windows Live Messenger’s video chat, Facebook chat sync and photo-sharing services. In fact, I love it so much I’m devoting this week’s chat to the topic.

Excitement has been building around “What’s Next” with Windows Home Server 2011 and with that excitement comes the Acer RevoCenter!

Just a quick reminder that Verizon Wireless today started selling its first Windows Phone 7 device—the HTC Trophy—via its website. The phone hits Verizon stores next week.

I know many of you were eagerly waiting for this one: Verizon Wireless today said that the HTC Trophy, its first Windows Phone, will be available on its website starting May 26—and hit Verizon stores a week later on June 2. The phone will cost $149.99, after accounting for a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract.

Just a very quick progress report this week.

We’re now scheduling the February and March updates for the HTC Surround on AT&T and for customers of Deutsche Telekom in Europe. We’re also scheduling the March update for Optus customers in Australia. Where’s my phone update? has the latest status.

We understand there’s still more to do. We’re not resting until we get this done globally.

I received a recommendation to check out Club Cooee. It takes the internet chat room to the next level in 3D rooms. You can run Club Cooee like a regular application or keep it always on top so you can do other tasks and see friends chatting in rooms at the same time.

I've gotten some requests from people to include a method to get your time data out of ProjectKeeper. I just wanted to let everyone know that the next version of ProjectKeeper will include a button that will allow you to email a report to any number of recipients. I'm already in the process of including this in what will become version 1.1.

The RSA Security Conference is underway this week in San Francisco and Microsoft's own Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President Trustworthy Computing, delivered one of yesterday's keynote addresses: Creating a Safer, More Trusted Internet. The keynote centered on Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing initiative, our End to End Trust vision, and how we have been working to further protect the security and privacy of for all the users of the Internet.
