Internet Explorer 7

For many people, going home for the holidays is a step back in time. Not just because you may be returning to your childhood home, but because you might see IE6 or IE7 on your parents’ home PC.

The Windows Summit is pleased to announce five new video sessions. The sessions highlight the releases of Internet Explorer 9. The Window Summit hosts introductory videos for software and hardware developers who want to build solutions on the Windows 7 and Internet Explorer platforms.

We released a new site last week called the The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown. It’s purpose, to help people say goodbye to their 10 year old browser and move to a modern browsing experience.

As mentioned on the Exploring IE blog this morning, we have released the Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate (RC). The IE 9 Release Candidate incorporates over 17,000 pieces of feedback received from customers, including 15,000 since IE 9 Beta. The RC not only offers better speed, reliability, and performance over Internet Explorer 8 but also incorporates some great new features including Tracking Protection.

Back in August, I wrote a blog post about how Internet Explorer 8 offers the best protection against socially engineered malware threats. This week, NSS Labs released a new study that continues to show Internet Explorer 8 to be the #1 browser in blocking malware!
