This week we are kicking off a whole discussion about travel because if there is anything I’m wild about its travelling. During the week, you’ll read about my recent glamping excursion, my trip to Las Vegas and my (completely unrealistic) dream of owning a super yacht. Travel will also be the topic of this week’s Tech Tuesday Twitter Chat and we’ll be joined by the folks at Bing.

It’s been one week since a few of us from the Internet Explorer team were down in Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011. While we spent much of our time demonstrating the IE9 beta to CES attendees, industry analysts, and press, we had the chance to get out of the booth and talk to some of the sites and companies building some interesting innovations using IE9.

After 3 days on the show floor in Vegas, it’s nice to sneak away for a little peace and quiet.  Darren Gladstone, HP’s Blogger-in-Chief, agreed with me, so we camped out in one of the Microsoft booth meeting rooms to talk about HP’s brand new, AMD Fusion powered Pavilion dm1, and the ultra-premium HP ENVY 3D.

Windows Phone Lands at CES 2011

Here we are at CES 2011 in Las Vegas, the largest consumer electronics show of the year. Windows Phone is here in the Microsoft space, showcasing our progress and we are really pleased with the reaction to Windows Phone since we unveiled it less than a year ago. Since then we have launched nine phones with 60 mobile operators in 30 countries while continuing to add new, high-quality apps to the Marketplace with over 5,500 to date. This means Windows Phone owners get access to more than 100 new apps every 24 hours and more than half of our customers are downloading a new app every day.
