The Interactive Design Association (IxDA) just announced the winners of its first annual Interaction Award—and we’re thrilled that Windows Phone 7.5 has picked one up. Here’s the official award citation.

Microsoft is a vast place, and I’m constantly stumbling across interesting things other folks around the company are working on or thinking about.

It takes 18-24 months to plan for and deploy a new operating system. If you haven’t started planning to migrate your Windows XP PCs to a modern OS, or if your migration plan have stalled here are some great tools to help you.

First of all, start by downloading  the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). It removes the need for disc imaging, migrates your data in place during deployment, and (best of all) it’s free.

Today Microsoft and IDG hosted a webcast discussion where participants touched on a range of topics: from the flexible workstyles of today’s workforce to useful information on Windows 7 deployment. I found the conversation insightful so wanted to share a few key takeaways.

This week people around the world celebrate Data Privacy Day. Yesterday at the National Retail Federation (NRF) conference in New York – Samsung announced that the SUR40 for Microsoft Surface is now available and shipping to customers! At CES 2011, we first unveiled Microsoft Surface 2.0 in partnership with Samsung with the SUR40.

Windows Phone had a fantastic week last week at CES. 2 new 4G LTE-enabled Windows Phones were announced for AT&T: the HTC Titan II and Nokia Lumia 900.
