AMD today has announced a new offering in their Radeon HD 6000 Series line-up of GPUs – the Radeon HD 6790.

Sony lifted the curtain on a pretty sweet new laptop, the high-end VAIO S Series. The new 13.3” PCs boast some pretty impressive specs, like new “Sandybridge” i5 and i7 processors, solid state drives, backlit keyboards, Blu-Ray and hybrid AMD Radeon HD 6630 graphics that auto-switch between discrete and integrated GPUs.

A few weeks ago, AMD introduced the first products in the company’s next generation of high-end DirectX 11 graphics cards – the AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series. The Radeon HD 6800 Series represents AMD’s second-generation DirectX 11 capable architecture and has up to 2 times the tessellation performance of the ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series while also bringing the performance of the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series down to the “gamer’s sweet spot” and using 25% less silicon.

Hot on the heels of the ATI Radeon HD 5450, AMD today has announced the ATI Radeon HD 5570.

Earlier today, AMD announced the ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card – the latest addition to the ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series of graphics cards.

Mark stopped by AMD’s booth to talk to Bob Sison about what AMD was showcasing this week at CES. AMD announced their Mobility Radeon Premium graphics in laptop PCs – supporting DirectX 11. Check out the video:
