Today Sony has revealed a new VAIO S Series Windows PC (VAIO SE) with a 15.5-inch full-on 1080p HD display. The VAIO S Series has a slim and light design with an optional sheet battery for impressive battery life (up to 12 hours!).

At BlogHer ‘11 in San Diego, I carried my PC around with me the entire time I was awake, and that made me appreciate technology more than ever. In fact, it also helped me to realize that one of the greatest things about technology is just how freeing it can be. Last year I wrote about Sony’s amazing VAIO Z. It was the PC I used for several months as my main work laptop and the one that was in my bag when my son was born last June. I defined the Z as “luxury computing”; it was fast, light, beautifully designed and sported features that no other laptop on the market had. To this day I rank it as one of the best PC’s I’ve ever used.

If I had a PC up to15 hours of battery life, I’d hop a flight to Cartagena, Colombia (9 hours flying time) and then head straight to the beach for an all-day session soaking up the sun (6 hours) without ever having to plug in my laptop.
